WRITING
GUIDELINES AND FAQs
About the
submission process:
- Articles can be submitted by
anyone wishing to have their content published.
If we publish your article, the author (or authors) will be credited
with a byline that will usually consist of name, title, company, digital
photo, and e-mail address.
- Articles that pass editorial
review will be published on a space available basis.
NCJW is under no obligation to print submissions, and there is no compensation
for work submitted at this time.
- Send your article as a Microsoft
Word attachment to Publisher, Paula Monahan by clicking this link: E-mail
What should
I submit?
- Authors are advised to review
past articles previously published on the NCJW web site prior to submission
to ensure that their article provides perspectives that are unique and
not already covered by previously published articles. We prefer to publish
articles offering fresh insights and ideas.
- Articles should cover issues,
trends, and subject areas relevant to women as a group, or to a specific
aspect of the areas affecting women, and should
not attempt to sell authors’ products, services, or expertise.
Each author’s photo and credentials will be listed along with
article. The credentials supplied by the author “will speak for
themselves” in that the reader will know what you and your business
is about. Articles may also be in the form of self-reflections, points
to ponder, short-short stories, etc.
- Content should be approximately
600 to 800 words in length and should be in finished form. No drafts
should be submitted.
USE ONLY SINGLE SPACING IN BETWEEN SENTENCES
INSTEAD OF DOUBLE SPACING. This makes the process of editorial review
quicker.
- All articles should be original
work that does not infringe upon the copyrights of any authors or publications.
- After receiving the article,
we may edit your article for clarity, length, and consistency, and may
re-title it, at our discretion; content should support the article’s
title or byline’s premise. If your initial submission needs to
be edited and reworked, you will be notified and will have the option
of reworking it and resubmitting it for future consideration. Articles
may be sent back to authors once for their review and approval prior
to being published.
- If your article passes the editorial
review process and is selected for publishing on the NCJW site, you
will be notified via email. We will ask that you mail via the United
States Postal Service a signed original of our Non-Exclusive License
