Teresa Pennington is a self-taught colored pencil artist with a talent she says is God given. Often spending as much as six months on one drawing, she meticulously renders the scenery, landmarks, flora and fauna of western North Carolina. A North Carolina native, Teresa has been commissioned by the Biltmore Estate for 16 years and does a new piece for them each year.

With a heart for conservation, she has also been commissioned by the U.S. Forest Service, the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation and the Western Diocese of the Episcopal Church to render drawings as fund raising campaigns. Her new project for 2004 will be a series for the Southern Highlands Nature Conservancy, an organization that protects the properties that border our national forests and parks. Many of her limited edition prints have sold out, creating a secondary market for her work. Her latest reproductions are digitally printed giclees on paper or canvas, done from her colored pencil originals.

Teresa's trademark is a Pink Lady's Slipper, appearing in all her work since 1996 in memory of her mother. In her galleries, in Waynesville and Blowing Rock, you will find originals, limited edition prints, mini prints, cards and gift items. Custom framing is also available.
