While summertime is when many of us are connecting with our ancestral heritage at family reunions, Royal Spirit Alive! looks at the power of technology to transform 21st century lifestyle choices. Meet Jane Webster, Co-founder, WebaTronics LLC. She’s mastered the art of blending rural mountain solitude with global market presence. In her rural mountain “headquarters,” she’s designing web sites, connecting with international suppliers and developing advanced computer networks. Read on and you’ll discover how to honor interpersonal style preferences and maximize marketplace trends for your own entrepreneurial success.

Nature or Nurture?
Entrepreneurism seems to be in Jane Webster’s genes, although individuals who want to weigh in with a nature or nurture debate will encounter an "and/so" proposition from Jane. She says her entrepreneurial success is a combination of the technological acumen she acquired from her father’s side of the family and the entrepreneurial spirit from her mother’s side of the family.

Like Leonardo da Vinci, Jane had to wait for technology to catch up with her brilliant mind. She refers to the age of the Internet as “The Revenge of the Nerds.” With the power of today’s technology, Jane says the Internet allows people like her to be on a level playing field. “There’s no more relying on the power of appearance and expressive personality to win success. My playing field requires ability to innovate. I’ve bootstrapped mostly on technology and know-how, not money.” Jane is a self-described technologist, introvert and “foreigner in a land called South.” If profitability is just revenge, then an in-the-black business ledger from day one is how Jane’s “Revenge of the Nerds” is playing out.

Tapping into readily available resources through the Internet is an ideal match for Jane’s incredible ability to research information and create leading edge technology solutions. Accountability is important for Jane, too, and she doesn’t mince words about what to do if you’re not happy with the outcomes in your life. “People have more freedom, but then with freedom you have to take responsibility for what you create because you have more control. If it’s not the way you want, it’s your responsibility to fix it. If things aren’t working the way you want, you really can’t blame anyone else. Look at what you’re doing wrong and fix it.”

Lest you think immersion into the high-tech world of WebaTronics annihilates any sense of humor, get Jane regaling ancestral stories. You’ll discover a wily wit and ability to weave history with family anecdotes. You’ll discover an immediate need for deep breathing and expanded lung capacity, as you’ll need plenty of oxygen to feed your laugh attack.

Jane’s tips for creating your own future:

Be willing to reach out of safe boundaries to do something new.
“You can’t teach a duck how to be an eagle. For people who can’t adapt, it’s a very difficult world.”
Be driven by your vision rather than by caring about what other people think about you.
“I’m living in this area. I’m not really dependent upon it though, because I’m hooked to the world. I’ve kind of created my own island, I take my own weather with me.”
Find tools you can use to understand yourself better.
“Develop a really good understanding of yourself and then pattern your business to fit you. Don’t try to fit yourself into someone else’s box.”

Resources such as the Internet have made knowledge available to the masses. Advances in technology have allowed individuals and small groups of people to expand lifestyle options. New business formats, service delivery methods, even dating and mating choices are being transformed with the World Wide Web, our 21st century “linking” resource. It’s a world of unlimited opportunity for individuals willing to adapt.

Jane Webster has found a way to create a lifestyle that honors her Royal Spirit. May your Royal Spirit guide you in the direction of your dreams so you can take a ride on the ascending spiral of success.
