Located about 50 miles southwest of Asheville, North Carolina, and perfect for any Fall retreat, the Greystone Inn offers accommodations, activities, rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation found in any upscale luxury destination. With nineteen consecutive AAA Four-Diamond Awards and the highest Carolina mountain lodging destination rating from the Conde Nast Traveler, the Inn maintains its historical standing on the 614 acre Lake Toxaway.

Originally built in 1915, the six-level, 16,000 sq. ft. Swiss-styled mansion was owned by the Armstrong-Moltz famiy for many years. Mrs. Moltz lived on the property until 1963 before selling the home to the Lake Toxaway Company. Much later, in 1984 the current owners, Mr. and Mrs. Tim Lovelace, formed a partnership, acquired the old home and channelled over $5 million into the property in an effort to restore and furnishing the home with antiques even Mrs. Moltz would have loved. After completion in July 1985 the old Moltz Mansion reopened as the Greystone Inn.

Rest

Cathedral ceilings, private porches, gas fireplaces, and lakeside views are just some of the many options guests may choose from during their stay at the Greystone. The Moltz Mansion itself houses 19 individual guest rooms - each decorated and furnished with antiques and reproductions. Each room comes complete with a Jacuzzi. In 1988 the Lovelaces opened the newly built Hillmont, a three-story, 12-room guest facility as part of the Greystone Inn property.

Relaxation and Rejuvenation

Just below the Hillmont guest facility is the Sothys Signature Spa where trained staff pamper guests with a wide range of European spa treatments. In addtion to the spa treatments offered, certified professionals are also available for yoga, foot reflexology, and reiki. The Greystone also offers a complete health and fitness center.

Fall is a great time to be outdoors in the mountains. Enjoy the natural beauty of the turning Fall foliage as you engage in many of the Inn's activities. Take a nature hike along one of the many trails on the Lake Toxaway Estate Property or explore the inlets via kayak or canoe along the property's 14-mile shoreline. Each day Greystone's guests can take a complimentary champagne cruise aboard the "Miss Lucy."

For the golfer, the winding and hilly mountain terrain offers spectacular views of mountain waterfalls and Toxaway Mountain. As part of the amenities the Greystone Inn offers, golfers may take advantage of the Lake Toxaway Country Club's Tom Fazio Learning Center. Training lessons, swing analysis and a driving range are available at the Learning Center. From November until April complimentary green fees apply seven days a week.
