April Showers Bring May Flowers

As surely as Spring follows Winter and Day follows Night, good radiant health follows healthy living practices.

The law of cause and effect is not magically suspended when it comes to living well. This is a clear case of what you’re willing to put in is what you’re going to get out. In fact, it is an almost perfect scenario, because it depends solely on you. Many times in life our goals and aspirations are dependent on others, or are sabotaged by those who should be the most supportive.

When it comes to getting in shape and staying there, it really is just up to us alone. We all have constraints in our life that make it difficult to eat well and exercise consistently. We also have many opportunities that unfortunately many of us do not optimize. Sometimes it is because we haven’t really sat down to figure out when and how we can fit healthy lifestyle choices in. Sometimes it is because we don’t have the knowledge of how to go about it. Sometimes it just doesn’t seem like a priority; we want the effect without the work. You have to put in the time in order to reap the benefits.

The benefits of living healthily far outweigh the costs: More energy, better sleep, more drive, looking good, feeling younger, better memory, and quicker thought processes. The list can go on and on.

The largest obstacle to getting in great shape is getting started. Once exercise and eating healthily become part of your everyday routine, you actually SAVE TIME AND ENERGY!! You are just more effective in everything that you do.

No one will ever convince me that it is more time efficient to be scrounging around in the bottom of your purse looking for spare change to get a snack from the candy and soda machine than it is to have an apple or a banana already in there. It also is not more effective to not have a clue about what’s for dinner and settle for some takeout or prepared “convenience” food, rather than plan ahead and feed your body nourishing and delicious food that will give you energy and help with your weight management agenda.

The exercise component also does not have to take an inordinate amount of time. It shouldn’t, if it is effective.

Rain brings the flowers as sure as consistent attention to your health brings the benefits of living in a healthy and fit body—one that you will be proud of throughout the summer and beyond.
