Heart
Healthy Sensation
Coming to North Carolina
North Carolina’s
Triad area is getting ready to experience a heart-healthy
sensation called “World Laughter Day,”
as the Triad Retirement Living
Association (TRLA) presents the second annual “Triad-area
World Laughter Day” celebration.
World
Laughter Day is celebrated throughout the world each year
on the first Sunday in May. The goal of
World Laughter Day, with the help of the World Laughter
Tour, is to start an epidemic of happiness by heightening
awareness of the positive effects of healing laughter programs,
building a sense of community and focusing on peace through
laughter. The local activities
are affiliated with World Laughter Tour events scheduled
around the world.
World
Laughter Day is official in the Triad!
North Carolina’s
Triad-area World Laughter Day celebrations are on Sunday,
May 1st. Proclamations have
been signed by the Mayors of Greensboro, High Point, Winston-Salem
and Clemmons declaring this day World Laughter Day.
TRLA member host site representatives and host site partners
gathered with the Mayor of their respective city to take
part in a Proclamation signing ceremony. The official
proclamations will be presented to host sites and host site
partners on World Laughter Day.
The following laughter-filled
activity schedule has been released by TRLA,
