Greetings, Journal Readers.

Our featured North Carolinian this month is Sharon Daggers. When Marilyn Sprague-Smith first told me about Dagger's artistic ability, my interest grew. I knew her story would be an interesting one to share with our readers. Perhaps some of you have seen her hand-painted murals at M'Coul's restaurant in Greensboro. I've often admired the talent of those who can take a creative idea or vision, add a little bit of paint to a brush and then turn a blank canvas or wall into something spectacular. Read Marilyn's interview with Daggers, and you'll see what I mean.

We have a great book for your review this month. Whether you work for yourself or someone else, this is one book you will definitely want to add to your knowledge base. Sabath's proven three-step strategy offers a fresh perspective on strategies for getting more by doing less through a hands-on approach in Courting Business.

Wendy Beasley

Joining us this month as the Journal's new editor is Wendy Beasley. Wendy is a freelance editor whose projects have included trade journals, catalogs, Web sites, product manuals, and marketing/public relations materials. She can be reached by email at wendy.beasley@gmail.com.

In the next coming months the Journal will begin to spotlight some of the great community service organizations across the state. We would like your input and suggestions on organizations that provide valuable service to our communities. If you know of or are involved with an organization that helps others, please send in your suggestion to the us. Please provide some basic information in your email to the Journal such as:

  • the organization's web site address
  • what you know about the organization from a community service/outreach standpoint
  • and why you believe this organization should be featured in our spotlight.

I look forward to hearing from you and wish you all a great month,
