Greetings, Journal Readers.

As I approach the end of my year as the chapter president of the Triangle American Marketing Association, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the chapter's board and committee members for volunteering their time and energy to help propel our chapter to "the next level."

Looking back over the past 24 months, I credit Louise Cottrell of Firebrand Marketing, for seeing in me what I could not and giving me the courage to step out of my comfort zone to succeed her as chapter president. Given her strong organizational and leadership skills, as well as our shared vision for the long-term growth of the chapter, our year as together as president and president-elect (2003-2004) proved to be a great partnership. Added to this great partnership is Becky Suzik of The Write Company. Becky diligently worked with us both over the past two years to manage the day-to-day operations for us, the chapter's members, and prospective members. Becky's constant and unwavering dedication and daily support is highly commendable. One of my favorite quotes comes from Gail Ostrishko, a Journal contributor:

It also takes courage to step out of your comfort zone to realize your personal and professional goals. It is because of Louise's and Becky's leadership and support that I had the courage to step out of that comfort zone to be who I really am.

Our featured North Carolinian for June is Dr. Eunice Mosley Dudley, entrepreneur, philanthropist, educator, mentor, motivator, ... and the list goes on. Journal contributor, Theresa Bennett-Wilkes talks with Dr. Dudley about her work, her students, and her life.

Until next time, have a great month!
