Greetings, Journal Readers.

As we prepare to celebrate Mother's Day once again, please allow me to tell you about a special "promotion" the Journal has undertaken this month. In an effort to create a greater awareness the impact of domestic violence has within our communities and society as well, the Journal has partnered with Interact of Wake County, North Carolina and PersonalShopper.com to raise money in support of moms of domestic violence. Laura Hilton, Director of Communications, Interact of Wake County, North Carolina has contributed a special awareness article on domestic violence to the Journal.

To help raise money for this Mother's Day Month promotion, PersonalShopper.com will contribute $5 up to $5,000 to Interact for each visitor who creates her own shopping preferences list by clicking on the “My Shoppe” link at www.personalshopper.com by May 8th. I encourage each of you to consider and take action of this Mother's Day promotion as a way of supporting moms of domestic violence. The attached flyer will further explain the promotion.

Susan Schwartz of Greensboro certainly knows how to take action. As the executive director of the non-profit Action Greensboro, and this month's featured North Carolinian, Susan knows the value of strategic planning, forward thinking, and most of all, TAKING ACTION. As you will see from her story, Susan is a thinker, a planner, and a doer at heart. Be sure to pay close attention to her words of advice for finding what will help you and your career move ahead.

Wishing you all the best this Mother's Day!
