Intuition in Business

Scene I – Nobody Came!

As a marketing major, I applied the following steps to start my new business.

  • Unique product: Workshop on unleashing intuition
  • Goal/desired results: Fill the workshop
  • Steps to accomplish goal: Develop Web site, brochures, business cards, competitive pricing; sell workshop via snail mail, email; distribute flyers; find networking groups; advertise; develop list of contacts
  • Actual results: First workshop: five participants who successfully created great changes. Second workshop: nobody came.

Scene II – What Happened?

I stopped using intuition, the very thing I was teaching. I used my intuition during the past three years to develop a unique product. Next, I went into “let’s get this baby on the market.” My logical mind took over to sell the product.

When the logical rational mind takes over, you cut off intuition, the creative side.

Intuition is your unique map for all you do.

It is the voice for your individual talent, insights and wisdom. When you are in touch with your intuition, synchronicities from the universe come your way. The best part is when working with intuition, it connects with others and benefits the good of all. It is the voice of your soul.

The logical mind is great for working in our physical world. It figures out how to market our products, be safe, pay bills, organize, make rules, keep score, etc. This is a necessary tool for living on a planet with billions of other people. However, it is at its most magnificent and helpful when it is guided from our intuitive side, “the wind beneath our wings.” Intuition is the higher purpose for our thinking mind. Without purpose from intuition, our thinking mind can be fearful, directionless and create a lot of negativity in our thoughts.

How do you know when you are using your intuitive side?
1) You are in the ever-changing present, with no worries from the past or future.
2) You have no concept of time; you are so engrossed, you look at the clock and can’t believe how time has passed.
3) You feel passion, the marriage of your purpose and your actions.
4) Your body feels energized, not tired.
5) Your reasoning mind is shut off; as soon as you think the words “I should” or “I better” or “I must,” you have stepped out of intuition.

How does intuition communicate with me?
1) Images, the wilder and or more nonsensical the better
2) Words that come to you, out loud or silently
3) Dreams and daydreams
4) The “inner knowing” that you pick up immediately about people and situations
5) Smells, sounds, colors that stir something inside you
6) Through journaling, especially with non-dominant hand
7) Body signals: your stomach tightening when your self esteem is threatened, or your throat tightening when you want to say a truth but are afraid
8) Lack of energy when you are in a job or situation that is not inline with your purpose 9) Psychically: clairaudience, clairsentience and clairvoyance

How do I access intuition?
1) Most importantly, have a positive attitude and a trust in the universe, that there is a bigger picture than you can imagine. Intuition does not come out when there is negativity, because that would be based on past or future worries.
2) You must be quiet, still and in the present. Have no thoughts; when one comes in gently, let it go and get back to present. Focus on a sound or your breathing.
3) Ask your question and wait for images, words, sounds, a knowing, to pop up; the first one to pop up is the right one.

Scene III – New Business Model

Once you get in to the habit of using intuition first and then wrapping your thinking mind around the message of intuition, accessing it can be fast. Whether brainstorming in a business meeting, working on a personal relationship, or problem solving: all the effective answers comes from intuition, which is then shared with others.

After attending an evolutionary leadership conference with Alan Seale, here is what I learned and now I have applied to my business. Instead of starting with the goal of the results desired, start with the potential of what wants to happen; sit with intuition, and let possibilities occur. As they come to you, feel which one resonates with you, and then wrap your reasoning mind around it to let it happen in the world. For example, I asked “What is the potential for my having workshops?” My intuition told me “to unleash intuition to embrace all differences.” Then as I held that potential at the base, possibilities came to me I had never thought of before. Two possibilities especially resonated with me, and since then, synchronicities, phone calls, and new opportunities have come my way and they are still manifesting. If you start with results, you become narrowly focused and have blocked any other opportunities from coming through. Always hold the potential as you go through this process. The hard part is that intuition gives you one step at a time, not a full plan. For those of us who like to know the plan ahead of time, here is where to put your faith. Remember it only works in the present, not the future.

New model: From your spot of intuition, work in this order:

Potential + Possibilities = Results

Joyce Anderson

In the midst of a typical busy woman’s life of owning and operating a business, raising children, and managing a family, she was haunted by a unfulfilled part in her own life. By talking with others it was apparent that sensation also haunted many…if not all of us. Her own explorations taught her that much of the void was not in what we didn’t have, but that we were not making use of what we did have. She realized that we don’t make use of extraordinary inner resources, intuition.

The principles and techniques applied by Joyce are the result of on-going study and training over the past ten years. She has also traveled throughout the country and completed intuition training programs conducted by Dr. Christine Page, Alan Seal, and Johnathon Pape, plus studies from Gloria Karpinski. She also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing from Florida International University.

Joyce is honored to have completed Future World Now, a gathering of select thought leaders on raising consciousness globally.
